The House Democrats are rarely confused with a gang of quick thinkers. In fact, they’re usually the pigeon to GOP con games in Congress. But today the Democrats almost got the House Republicans to vote in favor of a far-right-wing budget plan; one that makes the Ryan plan look sensible.

Yeah, it almost worked.

However, the House later did vote for the Ryan plan, putting 235 Republicans on the record as being in favor of phasing out Medicare and cutting Medicaid, two of the most popular programs out there for Americans.

With any luck, this just handed the Democrats a camera-ready ad campaign against every House Republican planning to run for re-election in 2012.
