Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the Republicans and the right wing have been saying some extra-loopy things the last couple of weeks?

First we have the Donald Trump clown show, followed by the roll-out of the Gingrich juggernaut that is turning into a joyous and quote-laden (not to mention heavy on the irony) crapfest. Now we have former Sen. Rick Santorum (Google him at your peril) telling us that is was torture that got bin Laden and that Sen. John McCain, who spoke out against torture on the floor of the Senate, doesn’t understand how “enhanced interrogation” works. Yeah, Mr. McCain spent five years in a North Vietnam P.O.W. camp playing Yahtzee.

It’s only May 2011; we have 18 months until the next election. Is there enough popcorn in the world to last that long?
