Via SFDB, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) explains why English needs to be the official language of the United States. In Spanish.
By the way, one question “Official Language” advocates never seem to be able to answer is which English will become the official English? Are we going to establish a Department of Language that will determine the standards for what is acceptable and thereby official? What about different dialects, word meanings, and usage? Is there going to be a Language Patrol to weed out unacceptable spelling, grammar, pronunciation, and syntax? (If so, they’d have a field day on some of the comment boards on right-wing blogs, where the abuse of the English language is your ticket in.)
No matter what language you use, “stupid” is a word that everyone understands.
