Can’t Live Without You is now on sale at Fanfare Books in Stratford, Ontario, as well as the aforementioned Callan Books, where I’m told they have already sold 20% of the inventory. (I gave them five and they sold one, but 20% sounds better.)
Fanfare is located on Ontario Street, the main shopping street in Stratford, and they have a wide selection of books from all over the world. Years ago it was located in a rambling old house on a side street overlooking the Avon River, and I loved to poke through it to find books and scripts stuffed into nooks and crannies of the house. It was there in 1972 or so that I found all twelve of the Swallows and Amazons books by Arthur Ransome in paperback. They are my comfort and joy as I re-read them, remembering the original stories my father read to me as a child.
It’s really great to have one of my books on sale at Fanfare; it’s like completing a circle.
