My favorite bookstore is Callan Books in Stratford, Ontario. John Callan has a wide variety of books on almost every subject packed into a neat little shop on York Street, and he’s always been helpful in recommending new authors and promoting good books that might otherwise escape my attention. Not only that, he’s become a good friend, always willing to take the time to talk about anything from new arrivals to the latest news from behind the scenes at the Festival.
This morning I stopped by and showed him the printed version of Can’t Live Without You, and without prompting he immediately asked for five copies to sell. So there they are, on sale in a bookstore in a place where I know that a lot of theatre people shop for books.
So if you’re in the area, stop by, browse, and pick up a copy. And get to know John, too.
