Remember how outraged the Republicans got when Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) said that the GOP healthcare plan was “die quickly”? Oh, they were furious about that, and they used it against him to defeat him last year in the election.
I guess they’ve had a change of heart about the sanctity of life, so to speak, because the other night at the Tea Party debate, the audience approved of letting someone die because they didn’t have health insurance. And the week before, the audience applauded when Gov. Rick Perry had not lost a wink of sleep over the 200+ executions that have taken place in Texas on his watch.
The point isn’t to wring your hands and worry that Republicans are really in favor of letting people die or actively killing them, thereby making them flaming hypocrites about being the “pro-life” party; we knew that already. The point is that they’re really shameless about it.
