So much has been written — and there’s much more to come — about the tenth anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001 that I don’t think there’s anything I can add. It has been politicized, commercialized, trivialized, demonized, patronized and exploited to the point that it is all a dizzying cacophony of sound and fury that borders on meaninglessness. So I’m not going to add to it.
Instead, in the Quaker tradition, I will leave you to reflect on your own about what that day and the days after mean to you, to us as a country, and to us as people. Your thoughts are welcome in the comments, but let this be all I need to say.
Peace.
