There have been reports all morning in various news media that Muammar Qaddafi was killed by rebel forces in his hometown of Sirte, Libya. For a while the sources weren’t sure, but now the New York Times is reporting that he is indeed dead. And to prove it, they’re running his obituary.
I’m left with the memory of the sister of a friend of mine, Sarah Philipps, who was a passenger on Pan Am 103. There’s no doubt in my mind that Qaddafi was complicit in the bombing of that plane in December 1988. The circle is now complete. Rest in peace, Sarah.
