The Nobel Peace Prize went to three women: “The winners were President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia — the first woman to be elected president in modern Africa — her compatriot, the peace activist Leymah Gbowee, and Tawakkol Karman of Yemen, a pro-democracy campaigner.”

There were over 100,000 jobs created in September, but the unemployment rate is still at 9.1%.

Construction is picking up in Miami.
