June 1 marks the official start of the North Atlantic hurricane season. So this weekend folks will be stocking up on the usual items in their hurricane kits (canned food, bottled water, batteries, and the other stuff the TV stations tell you to store), and we’ll be keeping an eye on Weather Underground to make sure that if something pops up, we’ll be ready for it.

The season lasts until November 30.
