Stop Laughing At Me

House Speaker John Boehner is serious about not being taken seriously.

Boehner said the reason negotiations are going so poorly is that Obama administration officials – in particular, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner – aren’t taking Republicans seriously. Boehner said he was shocked at Geithner’s proposal to Republicans last week.

“I was flabbergasted. I looked at him and I said, ‘You can’t be serious.’ I’ve just never seen anything like it,” Boehner said.

Apparently he was serious about that.

2 barks and woofs on “Stop Laughing At Me

  1. Boehner is funny because he insists the administration come up with a plan, which Obama came up with throughout the campaign and now that Geithner has upped the ante and said “see you” the GOP hasn’t a plan in response – and that’s because no plan members of the House would go with makes fiscal sense and they know it. It’s going to be a rough ride, no laughing matter.

  2. Boehner: Surely, you can’t be serious
Geitner: I am serious and don’t call me Shirley
