Wayne’s World

NRA leader Wayne LaPierre posted a primal scream at Tucker Carlson’s pixelated fishwrap yesterday about arming everyone to the teeth because you never know when a mob of rioting Latinos or a tornado are going to get together with Barack Obama to take our guns away.

… Latin American drug gangs have invaded every city of significant size in the United States. Phoenix is already one of the kidnapping capitals of the world….

… the border today remains porous not only to people seeking jobs in the U.S., but to criminals whose jobs are murder, rape, robbery and kidnapping. Ominously, the border also remains open to agents of al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations.

… Meanwhile, President Obama is leading this country to financial ruin, borrowing over a trillion dollars a year for phony “stimulus” spending and other payoffs for his political cronies. Nobody knows if or when the fiscal collapse will come, but if the country is broke, there likely won’t be enough money to pay for police protection. And the American people know it.

Hurricanes. Tornadoes. Riots. Terrorists. Gangs. Lone criminals. These are perils we are sure to face — not just maybe. It’s not paranoia to buy a gun. It’s survival….

Aside from the fact that he’s got his anecdotes wrong (crime is down and Phoenix is not the kidnapping capital of the West), I’m not sure whether or not Mr. LaPierre really believes this crap or he’s a charlatan of the first order who knows that no one ever went broke by exploiting the greed, fear, and paranoia of the American public.

If he really believes in his Klanish crap, he’s pathetic.  How can anyone go through life being so scared of everything?  A tree limb falls on his roof and he comes out blazing.  A pizza delivery guy gets an address wrong and his funeral is held the next week.  Some Darwin test case will stick a Glock in his pants and get the wrong kind of blowjob… assuming he’s got really good aim to hit such a small target.

I know there are people who live their lives in fear and who think the only thing between them and Armageddon is a gun.  They’re sad cowards who don’t know and appreciate the difference between surviving and living.

And Mr. LaPierre knows how to exploit it.  He may truly be as paranoid and bedwetting as the Doomsday Preppers, but he’s got the savvy to know how to make buck off of them.  That makes him a parasite and a loathsome excuse for a human being.

HT to Steve M.

5 barks and woofs on “Wayne’s World

  1. Belief has nothing to do with it. He’s selling guns, period. The NRA is three decades past being a voice for gun owners. It’s now nothing more then the marketing arm of a cooperative of gun manufacturers.

    • Both really. He is fear articulated which serves to reinforce the fear which continues to speak in a manner in which a perpetual motion machine might work.

I bet he has an arsenal, waiting for the apocalypse.

  2. “that no one ever went broke by exploiting the greed, fear, and paranoia of the American public…”

The greed, fear, paranoia, and STUPIDITY… you forgot the raging, buck-nekkid, bull goose loonie, full frontal STUPIDITY of the American public…

I’m waiting for one of the feckless dildeaus (it’s the French spelling, btw) to make an appearance on Fox, relating breathlessly how he managed to back down a tornado or hurricane w/ his piece…

  3. I’m inclined to think that at one time, guys like LaPierre once said this kind of crap because talking hyperbole is a lot of fun and they got some attention for it. But over time, they believe it because it’s what got them to where they are and they need the attention and they need to promote their cause. It also helps that we have a very lazy news media that just lets them spout whatever they need to spout without calling them on their BS.

  4. There is no way that this asswipe believes the crap he spews. Heis just one of the reality handicapped members of the GOP talking to their easily led klan.
