Can You Spot Them?

Former Rep. Joe Walsh, famous for his Tea Party rants and being a deadbeat dad on his congressional salary, has a bright idea to keep our country safe:

“We’re at war, and this country got a stark reminder last week again that we’re at war,” Walsh said to host Martin Bashir during an appearance on MSNBC. “And not only should we take a pause, Martin, when it comes to immigration, we need to begin profiling who our enemy is in this war: young muslim men,”

“The fact is, Martin, neither you or I or Jonathan knows of the 11 million, and it’s more than 11 million, how many are bad characters,” Walsh continued, addressing Bashir and fellow guest, columnist Jonathan Alter. “And what we’re going to do is replicate what we did in ’86, provide amnesty to all of them, which in essence is providing legal status to a lot of bad characters. You know, Martin, there’s also a piece of this legislation that bans our law enforcement officials of profiling. We need to profile even when it comes to our immigration policy.”

Great idea; we just hunt down every young Muslim man in the country, regardless of citizenship status because, y’know, if they’re Muslim, they can’t be a real American.  And once we’ve done that, we’ll have to have some way of showing that we’ve identified them.  So how will we mark them?  How about we make them sew a label or a symbol on to their clothes so we can easily spot them on the street?

After all, it worked pretty well the last time someone tried it on another religious group.

3 barks and woofs on “Can You Spot Them?

  1. One wonders who the next target will be, should al-Qaida be beaten into sufficient submission to be considered a marginal threat. Because you know darn well that they won’t be happy with crushing just Teh Brown Peeps.

  2. Not that I give a shit what Joe Walsh has to say, but when he throws out that 11 million number is he conflating “young Muslim men” with “illegal immgrants?”
