Question of the Day

I’ll get asked this at work today, so it’s your turn.

How was your weekend?

Nice and quiet, thanks.

12 barks and woofs on “Question of the Day

  1. We went to Homestead Bayfront Bark and ate at their restaurant “La Playa”. Best view and cheap! Then we went over to Biscayne National Park and walked around. South Florida at its finest!

  2. Things are starting to heat up in our corner of the southwest. Went to the mountains, smoke on the horizon, another hazy hot day. Go SPURS Go

  3. My weekend was full of mysteries… the kind that come in novels. Block’s latest (but not new) Scudder novel is predictable. But there’s a newly recognized author worth watching: Louise Penny.

Penny is a thoroughly Canadian writer; her primary character is Chief Inspector Gamache of the Sûreté du Québec. People who compare her to Agatha Christie are not utterly wrong… she digs into the personalities of her characters as Christie did… but the three books I’ve read so far from the series are not your typical English country house mysteries. FWIW, IMHO, she draws gay characters very well. The Gamache series starts with Still Life, a great name for a murder mystery involving artists.

  4. House guests and all that go with it. A happy time, but tiring. I look forward to the coming week and see that the calendar for it is pristine in its emptiness. Wish there was a movie to see.

  5. Awesome weekend at the race track, with my daughter all weekend racing a 1200hp car to 180+ mph, what could be more fun!

    • How did the car do? Any ribbons – or whatever you get putting the pedal down better than anyone else?

      • It’s getting there. The tuneup is getting closer and closer with every outing. We qualified #1 on Sunday, which was wonderful, and earned us a first round bye. We lost in the second round — our 8.944 seconds to his 8.940, lost by 4 thousandths of a second… Bummer.

  6. I am still recovering from the trip to Houston. We returned home at 12:30 am Friday morning. The dog, cat and Russ are all getting over that trip. My gout has kicked up and I am now treating that. So we recovered until we go back in 4-6 weeks.

  7. Also quiet. We blew off the heavy work, cleared a porch of winter’s debris and drank black currant wine with bubbly water. We grocery shopped and ate and relaxed amidst the scent of honeysuckle blossoms.
