No Big Deal

Via TPM:

The Senate on Wednesday passed the bipartisan budget bill in a 64-36 vote, sending the legislation to the President’s desk.

The bill, authored by Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), passed in the House last week 332 to 94.

Under normal circumstances — meaning a House and a Senate that were not being torn apart by squirrels — this news would barely generate a note in Short Takes.  And since it doesn’t include an extension of unemployment benefits or do anything other than business as usual, it’s not like they accomplished much more than their job, and barely that.
