Not A Chance

The Senate voted to extend unemployment benefits, but it won’t get past the House.

The measure’s progress in the House is complicated by opposition from many conservatives who comprise the majority, as well as outside groups like the Club for Growth, which has urged lawmakers to oppose the bill.

As far as I can figure it, the only reason the GOP doesn’t care about the unemployed or their families and children is because those people are not in the position to give an interesting sum of money to their re-election campaign.
