For your Halloween promenade.
Paul Jacobs was one of my partner’s closest friends, back in the 60s. I heard him play “Graceful Ghost” at our house on our 9 foot Bechstein concert grand, before he died. If anything, it was more beautiful than this recording, and that’s saying something.
What a nice story.
May I dish a little? A lot of people back then in the NYC gay music world, like Charles Wuorinen, would ask Paul about my partner, “Well, what’s he like in bed?” Paul always responded, “I don’t know! He’s my FRIEND!”
That Paul had been trying unsuccessfully to get him into bed for years was not brought up.
Discretion is the sign of manners. 🙂
