2 barks and woofs on “In Your Dreams

  1. According to Benen:

[I]f the Speaker is going to face a genuine threat, his Republican opponents would need a real, credible challenger from within the party. Neither Gohmert nor Yoho, both of whom are generally seen as clownish figures on Capitol Hill, fit the bill.

We’ve had one resignation (Grimm) and one ought-to-be-resignation (Scalise) and the 114th Congress hasn’t even been seated yet. “Clownish figures” seem to be the order of the day.

I’d say that Gohmert would be an interesting Speaker, but I’d expect Yoho to be a less incredible threat. Either way, while neither seems to be especially likely, there’s a lot of unlikely to be had in this Congress so surprises should be expected.

  2. I’d love to know what Gohmert’s fellow House Republicans think of him. He seems like the stupidest member of Congress to me, and that’s saying something.
