Down Goes Boehner

Via TPM:

Speaker John Boehner plans to resign from Congress in late October, he told member [sic] of his conference Friday morning in a closed door meeting, according to multiple reports emerging from the meeting room.

Boehner is second in line to the presidency, after Vice President Joe Biden. He was first elected to Congress in 1990. He has served as speaker since Republicans took control of the House in 2011.

The only surprise is that he’s doing it now, but when you’re dealing with a party that acts like a bunch of sugared-up eight-year-olds and growing plots among the nutsery to bounce him, this is just as good a time as any to get out.

5 barks and woofs on “Down Goes Boehner

  1. It will only get worse if the rumored next Speaker turns out to be a died-in-the-wool Tea Partier who will stand firm against any compromise whatever. Hold on to your seat belts.

  2. If he quits while he is still the Speaker, he gets to keep the princely retirement instead of the measly one that lowly Reps get. Always go for the money, even if you didn’t earn it.

  3. “A bunch of sugared-up eight-year-olds” would act better than these disrespectful, racist and arrogant pieces of nothing who are now in charge of our government.
