This Will Have To Do

The House Freedom Caucus didn’t get to shut down Paul Ryan’s entry to the Speakership and they didn’t get to stop the budget deal, so they have to have something to mollify them, but what?  Oh hey, how about impeaching the IRS commissioner?

Fox News reported House Oversight Committee chair Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) and 18 other members of the committee signed on to the resolution.

Chaffetz, who was running to succeed John Boehner as House speaker until Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) entered the race, wrote in the resolution that Koskinen violated the public trust by allegedly destroying evidence, lying in his testimony, and obstructing a congressional investigation into the supposed IRS targeting of conservative groups.

Consider it a consolation prize.

One bark on “This Will Have To Do

  1. There’s something almost appealing about wanting to impeach a government official for something that didn’t happen while he wasn’t in office.
