Marco Rubio will be out of a job next January. He should probably not consider going on the stand-up circuit.
Mr. Rubio, campaigning in New Hampshire on Friday, joked that the storm is “probably one of the best things to happen to the republic in quite a while” because it temporarily prevented the federal government from issuing new regulations and President Obama from signing executive orders.
So funny I forgot to laugh, especially since at least 30 people died as a result of the storm.
Sheesh, what a jerk.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie didn’t think it was so funny either, saying Mr. Rubio’s remark showed “immaturity.” But Mr. Christie can be a jerk about the storm too, yelling at a town hall participant about his priorities by campaigning in New Hampshire instead of being on duty during the storm in New Jersey (auto-play video at link).
Maybe that’s why there’s such a groundswell of support for a Christie presidency.
