Tech Note

If you have Windows 10, the massive update now being sent out by the mothership takes an hour and several restarts.

I found that out in the middle of the previous post.

5 barks and woofs on “Tech Note

  1. For me, it took three hours (after they were downloaded), then another twenty minutes of “checking the apps” to be sure they were working (they weren’t), and then seven or eight tries before I could get my home page to load.

Since then Windows has done cute things like shifting my internet to airplane mode and removing my ability to disable the touch pad (I use a mouse) — I can only uninstall it, and then Windows promptly re-installs it. And most recently, Windows Media Player just stopped working in the middle of a playlist.

I’m almost ready for a Mac, except for the 1200 document files, 500 or so picture files, and 700 CDs worth of music that would have to be converted.

  2. I’ve been on the fence re. this. I keep getting the “notice” but, click on “remind me later”. Now, I don’t know if I should or not.?
