That was my mother’s song and I can still sing most of the verses. She was raised all over the midwest, her father in the regular army for a couple of stints. But I can see her at the piano and hear her singing to this day. “On the banks of the Wabash far away . . . “
I have the songbook. I found the sheet music. If I get the piano tuned, I’ll play it.
