As expected, Liz Cheney lost her primary battle against a Trumpista in Wyoming.  One Republican is replacing another Republican.  The fact that Ms. Cheney stood up to Trump and paid the price for it is a lesson in foregone conclusions in this political climate of nutsery.  I was going to say that the GOP will rue the day they took his side and led their voters down this path, but those kinds of regrets usually come with body counts and “thoughts and prayers.”  Also, at least outwardly, the current Republican Party is incapable of admitting error or expressing regret.
