I Called It

When Ron DeSantis said he was going to run for president, I wrote several times that he would be running on fumes by October and drop out of the race before the New Hampshire primary.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis suspended his Republican presidential campaign on Sunday, ending his 2024 White House bid just before the New Hampshire primary while endorsing his bitter rival Donald Trump.

I also knew he would endorse Trump because he’s a toady, a bully, and a coward.

Now he’ll come back to Florida to run out the rest of his term, probably try to primary Sen. Rick Scott, and draw up plans for running in 2028.

But the world will little note or long remember that he even ran.  He made absolutely no difference whatsoever in the state of the race, and he proved that unlike citrus, there are some things that Florida has the rest of the country wants no part of, including “anti-woke” and demonizing drag queens.  It’s going to take a while, though, to flush the sewage out of the system.

One bark on “I Called It

  1. Joining Snotty Walker, “TPaw,” Bobby Jindahl, and a host of other GOP “rising stars” who were promoted endlessly by the prestige press. I wish these journalists were capable of a little self-examination about their role in bringing these clowns to prominence.
