It’s Too Late

Given Donald Trump’s latest belch (see below), Very Serious People might be asking folks like John McCain and Paul Ryan whether or not they’re still going to vote for their party’s nominee.  Perhaps now they’re going to say, “Okay, that’s it, I’m not going to support him”?

Frankly, it’s too late.  It was too late when Mr. Trump attacked the Gold Star parents; it was too late when Mr. Trump claimed that a judge with Mexican ancestry couldn’t be impartial in his civil case; it was too late when Mr. Trump said we should ban all Muslims from entering the country; it was too late when he revised that to include Muslims where terrorism happens; it was too late when he mocked a disabled reporter; it was too late when he branded Mexicans as drug-runners and rapists, which takes us back to the day when he descended on that golden escalator to announce he was running for president.

In other words, if you couldn’t disavow him as a member of your party when he made those statements, you can’t do it now, even if you supported someone else in the primaries.

Even if you have to be forced at gunpoint (ahem) to shun him, it’s too late.  He’s all yours.

2 barks and woofs on “It’s Too Late

  1. And Poor Paul Ryan isn’t even trying. He’s offered the excuse he was “too busy” yesterday to see the tape of the rally where Trump suggested 2nd Amendment folks take care of Clinton (not unlike Itzak Rabin). Oh, he was certain Mr. Trump was only joking.
But Mr. Trump said hell no he meant what he said.

  2. We all KNOW that Ryan was lying!
On an election day …he …wasn’t glued to “news” feeds?
If for nothing else …polling results.
